We provide bespoke, planning-literate arboricultural advice for sites where trees are material to decision-making.

Our work focuses on understanding tree value, constraint, risk and long-term management in context - supporting clients through planning, appeal, implementation and stewardship with advice that is proportionate, defensible and evidence-led.

Our role is to interpret evidence and standards with professional judgement, balancing protection, use and development where appropriate. This allows us to provide advice that stands up to scrutiny and supports sound decision-making without defaulting to formulaic or disproportionate responses.

  • Woodland management plans

  • Grant application assistance

  • Felling licence reports

  • Rural and equestrian site surveys identifying risks specific to equestrian use

  • Paddock walk-throughs identifying:

    • tree risks

    • plant-based equine toxins/poisons

BS 5837 Compliance

  • BS5837-compliant reports and plans

  • Pre-start advisory reports

  • Early involvement and advisory support at pre-app stage, as well as compliance monitoring throughout the construction period

We survey using point cloud, which captures far more data than most other surveys. This allows us to revisit projects and trees which make key battlegrounds for constrained sites.

Tree Preservation Orders

We provide independant TPO reviews and procedural advice for local planning authorities on a locum basis and advise clients where decisions are finely balanced.

Tree Preservation Orders form a specialist area of our practice. Our work is informed by in-depth analysis of TPO legislation, guidance and appeal practice, including the authorship of a professional paper on TPO procedure. This emphasis on procedural clarity and reasoned judgement underpins our advisory role on applications, objections and appeals.

This level of specialism allows us to support decision-makers and clients with confidence, fairness and consistency in complex or sensitive cases.
